Recently, my friend and client, Mr Shubam Sharma from Bihar, who has a general savings deposit account with Dakshin Bihar Gramin Bank (DBGB), emailed me with a simple question:
“How can I check my DBGB bank account balance? Is there a balance checking number?”
Like many rural customers, Shubam was unfamiliar with the various digital and offline banking options available. So, I took the time to guide him through various methods to access his balance conveniently.
If you are looking for an easy way to check your Dakshin Bihar Bank account balance, this guide is for you. I am here to help you just like I helped my client, Shubam.
Hi, I’m Nanne Parmar, with 6 years of experience in digital banking, including working with leading banks like UCO Bank. Here are a few quick options to check your account balance.

On 1 April 2025, the Ministry of Finance introduced a notification for 26 RRB Banks Merging into 11 new Banks. After that, the Dakshin Bihar Gramin Bank (DBGB) & Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank (UBGB) merged and got a new name, Bihar Gramin Bank (BGB).
The new online facilities of Bihar Gramin Bank are still under development, so please stay connected for the next update.
According to the DBGB official website services page, the bank offers several new facilities to check your account balance, including offline and online methods.
So, let’s check out the first, easy, offline method –
1. Dakshin Bihar Gramin Bank Balance Number

This is one of the first and best methods that I suggest to my clients. It is simple and fast, has no internet required, and does not even need a smartphone. All you need is a registered mobile number and an active recharge on the SIM. For missed calls, ofcourse.
According to the DGBG official Instagram page post on June 12, 2024, the bank offers a missed call banking facility to balance enquiries for both savings and current account holders.
To receive available balance SMS, you have to dial 1800 202 3001 using your bank-registered mobile number.
No SMS Received? After trying a few times, if you are not receiving the SMS. It may be possible that your SMS alerts are not activated. You can dial the customer care Toll-free number 18001807777 for help. However, you can visit your home branch, ask for activation of SMS Alerts and update your number as well.
Tip: If banking servers are down, try making missed calls again after 24 hours.
