What Is Happening with Citrus Check Inns and Royal Twinkle Star Club?

If you invested in Citrus Check Inns Ltd. (CCIL) or Royal Twinkle Star Club Pvt. Ltd. (RTSCPL), you must have been waiting years to hear about your refund.

The Supreme Court has been monitoring the matter, and as of August 8, 2024, it was revealed to be a pure pyramid scheme operation. These schemes were later declared collective investment frauds by SEBI.

The court gives orders to repay investors like you from these companies, as well as the commissions paid.

To ensure fairness, the Court ordered that only small investors (with net dues less than ₹5,000) should be refunded first, as they were the most vulnerable.

Now, instead of visiting offices or submitting physical forms, what the Supreme Courts does, they launch a dedicated online refund portal to claim your amount.

So, What Exactly Is Citrus Check Inns’ Refund Portal?

Citrus Royal Refund Portal is a fully digital web platform opened in 2025. It was created by the A. P. Kurhekar Committee, under the direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. It works to identify small investors by documents.

If you are one of them, you can easily fill out the claims and deposit refunds directly into your Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. let’s explore how you can do that –

How to Register and Apply for Citrus Check Inns and Royal Refund

At first, you may feel that the refund portal is so complicated, but if you follow the steps carefully, you can complete creating an account and claim your amount; the process is smooth. Here’s where to start:

Step 1: Registration

1. First, as per the Supreme Court, visit the official site only – https://www.citrusroyalrefund.com/
2. Now, in the register form on the right side, enter your Certificate Number (any one certificate if you have multiple from both schemes).
3. Type your Exact Name as printed on the physical certificate (include middle name if printed).
4. To confirm, fill out the numbers captcha and tap on Verify now.
5. You have to provide your last 4 digits of aadhaar and your mobile number (must be linked with Aadhaar)
6. Select whether you are registering for yourself or as a legal heir.
   • If legal heir → choose relation with investor (father, son, spouse, brother, etc.) and enter heir’s Full name.
7. Just accept the terms and click on the register button.
8. To verify, you have to enter a 6-digit OTP, which you can find on your Aadhaar-linked SIM.
9. Here, the system will fetch details through DigiLocker.
   • You have to log in with your Aadhaar number or mobile number in your Digilocker account.
   • Permit to access your DigiLocker to share your address proof.
   • Confirm details and tap on Next.

Now your first KYC and registration step is completed.

Step 2 – Log in for the First time

1. Go to the portal homepage and select the “Login” button at the bottom of the registration form.
2. For login, your last 4 digits of Aadhaar and the linked mobile number are required. Simply enter them.
3. Enter OTP received and done, your Login is successful.
4. Your Dashboard will now open with the next 3 steps required to complete your refund claim process.

Step 3: Fill out your Citrus Royal Claim Application Form

There are a total of 5 steps for the claim, but we have already completed the first step –

1. KYC Verification – Already completed via DigiLocker & OTP.
2. Identity Proof –
   • Enter full Aadhaar Number.
   • Now, upload your front & back photo of the Aadhaar card.
   • Also, add a front photo PAN card (optional, but recommended).
3. Investment Proof –
   • Enter all Certificate Numbers one by one.
   • Upload a certificate copy or an acknowledgement slip.
   • Answer:
     • “Have you submitted a physical copy during the claim process?” → Yes/No
     • “Do you have a certificate/acknowledgement to upload?” → Yes/No
   • Enter refund amount (₹10 to ₹5,000).
4. Review Form –
   • Check every detail you entered carefully.
   • Correct mistakes before final submission.
   • If any mismatch or blurry image is found, it may trigger rejection.
5. Final Submission –
   • Here, just tap on the Submit the claim button.
   • A unique 10 to 16-digit Application Reference Number will be generated.
   • Download the Summary Report in PDF for your record.
   • Your Reference Number is required for the next any further communication or checking status.

Note: If the investor has passed away, legal heir claims will be processed separately after further Supreme Court directions.

How Much Time Does It Take to refund my amount?

• The committee usually takes up to 90 days to verify documents and transfer the refund.
• Refund is credited only to Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts. No cheques, no cash.
• If Aadhaar is not linked, the payment will fail. You have to visit the NPCI official website, tap on bank seeding for DBT, and link your seed your account with Aadhaar now.

When Will the Next Supreme Court Hearing Happen?

As of now, the last order was on 25th March 2025, and the deadline extension was announced for 29th August 2025 to claim your amount under Rs. 5000.

• Any further extension or legal heir process will depend on the Court’s upcoming hearings in late 2025.
• Investors are advised to submit claims before the deadline instead of waiting.

Which Investors Are Eligible Right Now?

Eligibility is tightly defined:

1. After adjusting for any commission or earlier refund, if the net principal due is not more than ₹5,000, you qualify.
   • Example for you: Invested ₹7,500 > already received ₹2,500 > eligible refund = ₹2,500.
2. All certificates from both CCIL and RTSCPL are clubbed together before calculating the refund.
3. Let me remind you, the refunds are currently only for original investors. If the investor has passed away, a separate legal heir process will be rolled out later.
