Income Tax Audit Report Due Date 2025: New Extended Due Date Announced for FY 2024–25

New Delhi, October 30, 2025: It’s the last call for indian taxpayers and CAs across countries. The final date to file the Income Tax Audit Report for FY 2024–25 (AY 2025–26) has been extended to November 10, 2025. after extension. The Central Board of Direct Taxes had already extended this deadline. The extension was from September 30 to October 31, upto 30 days already.

But this time, the extension offers short relief to taxpayers and CAs, but officials have indicated this may be the final extension for the year.

What This Means for Taxpayers

If you run a business and your sales are touching Rs. 1 crore, or if you are a professional (Doctor, lawyer, or other) earning more than Rs. 50 lakh in a year, the Income Tax Department requires you to submit a Tax Audit Report. This is basically a financial check-up of your books to ensure your income and expenses are properly reported. It must be uploaded online using Form 3CA/3CB and Form 3CD through the Income Tax e-filing portal.

In simple words, if your income is large enough to fall under audit rules, tomorrow is the last day to submit your audited accounts to the government.

New CBDT Extension Issued

Many indian taxpayers were looking for a new update about another extension, but as of now, the CBDT has issued a new notification on October 29 extending the deadline. Nationwide, the set due date is November 10, 2025, for all categories.

A few state High Courts, such as

  1. Rajasthan
  2. Karnataka
  3. Punjab
  4. Haryana
  5. Himachal Pradesh

have given limited relief in their regions, allowing taxpayers there to file until the end of November. However, that relaxation does not apply across India.

ITR Filing Deadlines

Here are the important dates you should keep in mind:

  • Tax Audit Report (Form 3CA/3CB & 3CD): November 10, 2025
  • ITR for audited taxpayers (non-transfer-pricing cases): December 10, 2025
  • ITR with transfer-pricing audit (Form 3CEB): check specific TP-related timeline (not yet extended nationally)
