Why was Sahara Refund launched?
The New Sahara Refund Portal has recently been launched to process the funds as per the Government-backed Scheme. It gives hope to millions of depositors someone like you, who have been waiting for years to get back their invested money.
The Sahara Group had collected deposits from crores of people through its cooperative societies. It is usually set up to collect deposits from people across towns and villages, give promising decent returns and ensure the safety of money.
But Many investors never got their money back after maturity. To address this, the Government of India launched the CRCS Sahara Refund Scheme in 2023 through the Ministry of Cooperation.
It is a structured program to return the unpaid money of depositors directly to their Aadhaar-linked bank account without the need for any middleman.
Who can apply for the Sahara Refund?
Not every depositor is eligible in the first phase. You can apply if:
- You deposited money in the Sahara Group cooperative societies. However, the refund scheme covers only four societies:
- Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Ltd.
- Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Ltd.
- Hamagree Sahakari Credit Society Ltd.
- Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd.
- Your claim amount is valid and supported by documents.
- Your bank account is Aadhaar-linked.
- You have a mobile number linked with Aadhaar to receive OTP.
Currently, as per the data on the official portal, resubmission is open for claims up to ₹5,00,000 only. Larger claim resubmissions will be announced later.
Important note – If your investment was in other Sahara group companies outside these societies or related company profiles, this particular refund scheme does not apply. If you invested in any of these, then only you are eligible. let’s explore, where to start –
Where to Access the Right Portals
There are two official websites depositors must know:

- Main Depositor Portal: https://mocrefund.crcs.gov.in/depositor

- Resubmission Portal: https://mocresubmit.crcs.gov.in/resubmission
