What documents and details Are Needed Before Updating

To change or register your new mobile number for the first time with UPPCL, keep these details ready before stepping out –

  • Last 3 months Bill Receipt in PDF, Physical, and Scanned copy form.
  • Your Account ID / Account Number (printed on your bill receipt or SMS).
  • Bill number of the last 3 months (can be retrieved through the portal’s chatbot if not available).
  • Valid new mobile number for OTP verification.
  • Email ID (optional but useful for communication).

Who Can Update the Mobile Number?

  • Residential consumers (household electricity users)
  • Commercial consumers (shops, offices)
  • Industrial consumers (factories, large loads)

Basically, anyone who has an account ID with UPPCL can update their contact details.

How to Update Mobile Number Without Old Number

If your linked number is not in use or has not had a number linked before, UPPCL still allows you to add or change your contact. Follow this method:

  1. First of all, visit the official UPPCL consumer portal: https://consumer.uppcl.org/wss/home.
  2. On the homepage, go to the “Updates” section and click on “Update Contact Details”.
  3. Select your District from the list.
  4. Enter your Account Number (this is printed on your electricity bill receipt, SMS, or PDF bill).
    • Note: Your Account ID = Account Number
  5. Now, you will be asked to provide your bill number.
  6. Remember, only the last 3-month-old bill number only accepted.
  7. The system will now show your currently linked number (if any) and options to:
    • Add a new mobile number
    • New secondary number
    • Add a new email ID
  8. Here, you have to enter your new mobile number and tap Send OTP.
  9. You will get a 6-digit OTP on your new number. Enter it.
  10. Your new mobile number will be updated in UPPCL records, usually within 1 hour.

Note: Most of the time, the number will be rejected due to already being linked somewhere another account ID or not being updated properly in the internal system. For that, you have to contact the helpline at Toll-Free Numbers: 1912 or 1800-180-8752 or send an email to support@uppcl.org for help.

Change Your UPPCL Mobile Number When the Old Number is Active

If your older number is still active but you want to change it, the process is simpler using the UPPCL Consumer App.

  1. Download the UPPCL Consumer App from the Google Play Store.
  2. Open the app, select District → choose your DISCOM → enter your Account Number.
  3. Now, enter the received OTP to navigate the dashboard. The OTP will only be sent to your already linked number.
  4. Once logged in, tap on Profile from the footer menu.
  5. Choose Edit Profile.
  6. Enter your new mobile number and save changes.

Within a short time, your account will be updated with the new number.

When to Choose the Offline Method

  • Wrongly entered account details.
  • Mobile number already linked with another account number.
  • Portal errors or server downtime.
  • OTP not delivered.

  • You need to visit your UPPCL Distributor office OR regional centre.
  • Carry a copy of your latest electricity bill and a valid photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID).
  • Request the mobile number update form.
  • Fill in the new number and attach ID proof.
  • Submit to the help desk staff.
  • Your number will be updated within 24–48 hours.
