How to Open Your ICICI Credit Card Statement PDF

Just imagine it’s the end of the month, and you have received an email from ICICI Bank containing your monthly credit card e-statement.

Why Does ICICI Lock the Credit Card Statement?

As of 2025, ICICI Bank commands a 17% share of the Indian credit card market, according to data from Finshots and the RBI. To manage this wide customer base securely, the bank sends out monthly credit card e-statements in PDF format.

These credit card statements have all your key details — like how much you’ve spent, when your payment is due, and a full list of your transactions. To keep this private, ICICI Bank locks the PDF file with a password. That way, only you can open it and maintain it safely from an unknown individual.

For first-time users, how to open your e-statement in your Email ID –

If you just received your first credit card from ICICI Bank, and after 45 days, you get your first digital statement on your registered Email Address, here are the steps to find it out easily –

1. Get your Email: Open your inbox app to find your received email from ICICI Bank. If you don’t find it in your inbox, check your spam and promotional folders in the menu.
2. Download the PDF File: scroll down to the end of your email and save the attached PDF file to your device.​
3. Opening the PDF: Go to the downloads folder where the PDF was saved.​

Tip: You need a PDF reader to view it. Choose any app from Adobe Acrobat Reader, Google Chrome, or your device’s built-in PDF viewer.​

If it doesn’t open automatically, you can install Adobe Acrobat Reader from the Play Store or App Store. You can also open the file in Google Chrome — just drag and drop it into a new tab.

Understanding the Correct Password Format to Access

To unlock the ICICI Credit card e-statement, the bank sets the format as a combination of the first four letters of your name (in lowercase) as per your credit card, followed by your date and month of birth in DDMM format.​

• For Akash Kumar, born on 2nd April 2000, the password would be akas0204.

Note: If your name has fewer than 4 letters, use the full name. If it includes initials like A.K. Mehra, try: a.km0604 or check the exact format printed on your credit card.

What If You Don’t Receive Statements by Email

In case you have not been receiving your monthly credit card e-statements, you will need to update your email ID. Here are the steps to update your email using the iMobile Banking App:

1. Register for ICICI Credit Card E-Statements

1. Simply, visit the official website of ICICI Bank, tap on the Login by Credit Card.
2. In the Menu, select Manage profile.
3. In the Profile settings, select E-statement Registration.
4. Enter your new Email and OTP to register.
5. All set. Within the next cycle, you will start receiving the emails.

2. Update Your Email via the iMobile App

1. Install the ICICI mobile Banking App: Firstly, you need to visit the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to download the iMobile app.​
2. Activate the App: After downloading, open the app and follow the activation steps. You’ll need to verify your registered mobile number and set a 4-digit MPIN for login.​
3. Register & Login: If you’re a standalone credit card customer, you can activate iMobile using your credit card number.
4. Update Your Email Address:
   • Log in to the iMobile app.​
   • Navigate to the ‘My Cards’ section.​
   • Select your credit card.​
   • Go to ‘Manage Card. ‘
   • Update your email address by selecting either your work or personal email.​
   • After entering, tap on submit and enter the OTP to activate it.

Once updated, you will start receiving your e-statement via email every month.

How to Reset the PDF password

If you forgot your credit card PDF password every month, or want a password-free copy of your e-statement for any purpose, such as a few loan apps or a government portal, ask credit card statement without a password.

1. Save a Password-Free Copy (Using Print to PDF)

• Open your ICICI statement with the correct password.
• Press Ctrl + P (or File → Print).
• Under Printer settings, select “Save as PDF” or Microsoft Print to PDF.
• Save it. This copy won’t ask for a password next time.

2. Use the ICICI iMobile App

• Open the iMobile Pay App and log in.
• Go to My Cards, choose Statements and select any month’s Statements.
• Tap and download. Files downloaded here usually open without passwords.

3. Optional: Use a PDF Password Remover Tool

• Only if you’re okay with uploading your file online.
• Use tools like iLovePDF, Smallpdf, or a desktop app like PDF Unlocker.
