After the new guidelines of One state, One RRB Bank, the government of India has officially merged four regional rural banks into a new entity, Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank (APGB) from May 1, 2025.
As per Gazette Notification (7 April 2025), here are the banks that merged:
- Chaitanya Godavari Grameena Bank (CGGB)
- Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank (APGB)
- Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank (APGVB)
- Saptagiri Grameena Bank (SGB)
This change is required to improve security, fast access to banking, and a simple banking process.
AP Grameena Bank is now the second largest RRB bank in India by its business volume, the bank sponsored by the Union Bank of India. According to the New Indian Express, the bank headquarters in Guntur is just temporary, but Amaravati will be the permanent headquarters.

- Your account is still active. No need to panic.
- You can still use your existing ATM card, cheque book, and account number until the bank launches a new system.

APGB Account Balance Check: Updated Methods After Bank Merger

So, here I am sharing the latest method that Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank is offering now. They are continuously adding and changing services, so you have to be updated on this. However, these are a few that may work fine for you.
1. APGB Missed Call Banking Number
According to the new APGB Bank official website, the latest Missed Call Banking number is 90902 90912 for balance enquiry. Customers can get messages instantly, 24/7 for their account.
Here are the quick steps to follow –
- Save this new 9090290912 to your contacts.
- Give the missed call to the number from your bank account-linked mobile number.
- The call will disconnect automatically within 3-5 seconds.
- You will receive an SMS with your last 4 digits of your account number with the available balance.
- No internet, smartphone, or App needed for this.
Note: if it does not work for you, you can use your older missed call enquiry number or visit your branch for help.
2. SMS Banking – Works Even Without Internet
You can use SMS Banking to track your balance, just type and send. Follow these simple steps:
- Open your phone’s SMS app and must have an SMS plan in your recharge pack.
- Type BAL (in capital letters).
- Send it to 9902988992.
- Wait for a reply SMS. Sometimes, due to servers, it might be late.
- Once you receive SMS, it shows all your account numbers’ last 4 digits and the current balance of each account that is linked to your mobile number.
3. APGB WhatsApp Banking
The latest WhatsApp banking number of APGB is shown on the homepage of their official website. You can check it out. Follow the steps to register and view the account balance quickly –
- Save the +91 90902 90912 WhatsApp banking number in your contact list on your smartphone.
- Open WhatsApp and start a chat.
- Type Hi, and you will receive an OTP from the bank to register your chat banking.
- Now, you will get the message with your account number and menu.
- Tap on the Account information menu.
- Select “Check Balance” from the menu.
- Receive balance info instantly. Also, you can get a mini-statement as well.
4. APGB Mobile Banking 2.0
Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank mobile banking app has not been officially launched; however, as per the new website APGB, they are suggesting that to use your old bank mobile banking app for now. But, also showing CGGB Money 2.0 as an APGB mobile banking app for now, that available at the Google Play store only.
Follow the steps to register and view the balance –
- Download the APGB Mobile Banking 2.0 or CGGB Money 2.0 app.
- Enter your Customer ID, Account Number, Date of Birth, and ATM card details.
- Set your MPIN (Mobile PIN).
- Log in using MPIN.
